Independent Energy Hawaii was founded on July 14, 2020 by James Rudolph. Our headquarters is in Honolulu, with a Maui location in Kahului and service for homeowners in Kona and West Hawaii. Local ownership matters because a solar project continues long after the panels are mounted. A homeowner needs someone to explain the proposal, coordinate the installation and help when equipment needs attention later.
Our work brings together residential solar, battery storage, EV charging and existing-system service. Those are related decisions, but they are not the same purchase. A household seeking a lower daytime utility bill may choose a different design from a household prioritizing refrigeration, medical equipment or other selected circuits during an outage. We start with those goals rather than assuming every home needs an identical package.

Published prices give you a starting point before a sales conversation. Your roof, electrical service and equipment choices then determine what belongs in the itemized proposal.
